The Brondes Age bar
PLANNING chiefs have been asked to allow the bulldozers to pull down a well-known bar next to the railway line in Kilburn.
Designs for a new four storey block, which would take the place of the Brondes Age pub opposite Brondesbury station in Kilburn High Road, were filed at the Town Hall last week. Eight new private flats would be created in the scheme with commercial unit on the ground floor.
How the new block would look
It is unclear whether this space would be occupied by a pub, as architects for Brondes Age Limited, the company which owns the site, have told council officials that planning policies protecting public houses may not apply. The application said a pub could be re-provided if there was “market demand”.
Brondes Age owneer Brian Mannion could not be reached for comment despite several phone calls.
